Das es bei MONTSERRAT geschlagene 11 Jahre gedauert hat um die musikalischen Ergüsse zu konservieren ist mehr als verwunderlich, aber im kommunistischen Kuba herrschen wohl andere Gesetze. Die vorliegende 5 Track Demo CD-R (sauber bedruckt) leidet zwar an einer unterirdischen Soundqualität (ein Demo eben), dafür mag das Material dieser außergewöhnlichen Band umso mehr zu überzeugen und liefert ein rundum gelungenes Statement aus der kubanischen Szene ab. Das Material ist insgesamt sehr episch, düster und melancholisch gehalten, nicht all zu brachial, größtenteils keyboardorientiert und mit fein akzentuierten geriffe aufgebaut. Verwobene exotische Ingredienzien wie z. Bsp afrokaribische Percussions bei "Caballo De Fuego" werden abwechslungsreich in die Kompositionen integriert. Dazu passend die pathetisch mannigfaltige Gesangsakrobatik, die stets einen Hauch von Wehmütigkeit versprüht.  Mich erinnern MONTSERRAT speziell an Italo Bands wie DARK QUARTERER, WYXMER oder ADRAMELCH,  was durchaus als großes Lob gewertet werden kann. Eine tolle Entdeckung also für Fans des etwas anderen Metal. It has lasted 11 years for MONTSERRAT to preserve their musical outpourings on CD, another fact that there rule quiete other laws in the communistic Cuba .  Indeed,  this 5 track demo CD-R (cleanly printed) suffers from a subterranean sound quality (a demo just), for it the material of this unusual band may the more to be convincing and delivers an around successful statement from the Cuban scene. The material is all together very epic, sombre and is held melancholy, not all too primitively, mainly keyboard-oriented and built up with well accented riffing. Intertwined exotic ingredients like afrocaribian Percussions in "Caballo De Fuego" are integrated diverse into the compositions. In addition suitably the great pathetically manifold song acrobatics which always sprays a breath of melancholy. MONTSERRAT reminds especially of Italo Bands like DARK QUARTERER, WYXMER or ADRAMELCH what can be absolutely evaluated as a big praise. So it's a great discovery for fans of the a little bit other Metal!
