Released in 1991 "Innocent Till Proven Nasty" was DOXY’s first full-length release and second overall. Their first official release being the 6 song EP "Let It Rock" released in 1989. DOXY was one of the top bands on the once flourishing Tulsa music scene. Today they are one of the few bands from that scene that people still remember. Their brand of rock is harder edged. They found a unique style and it worked well for them. The weak point of the band is their vocalist. The best tracks are those in which Kevin doesn’t push his limited range. A few tracks are cheesy, but still enjoyable nonetheless. The killer tracks are the anthem "Gangs All Here" and the harder hitting "Nobody Wins". The ballads "Broken Promises", "Hearts On Fire", and "Footsteps" will also win you over. Everything by this band is hard to find. This was only released on cassette so it will be that much more difficult. If you are lucky enough to spot a copy do not hesitate to pick it up. (Jacob Moseby / 2008) |
