Mit dem ersten Longplayer "In Rock We Trust" konnten GALLOWS POLE im Schatten der gerade durchstartenden NO BROS zumindest in Österreich einen kleinen Achtungserfolg landen, richtig bekannt wurden sie damals leider nicht. Lauscht man heutzutage solchen Songs wie "I'm A Loser", "Abyss", "In The End", "Whiskey" oder dem Titelstück "In Rock We Trust", fühlt man sich sofort zurückgebeamt in die prähistorische Rock / Metal Ära der späten Siebziger und frühen Achtziger. Geboten werden griffige sowie traditionelle Riffs, dazu ansprechende Rhythmusteppiche geschickt verflochten mit Breaks und relativ viel Abwechslung. Revolutionäre Impulse werden zwar vermisst, trotzdem ist dieses Album ein unverwechselbares Artefakt aus den Anfängen der österreichischen Rock / Metal Szene und im CD Format wesentlich rarer als die Vinyl Version. Das einzige was ich bei diesem Release vermisse ist die schnuckelige Schwertlady die sich beim öffnen des Vinyl Klappcovers dargeboten hat...schmatz, hechel! (Charly Kogler / 2010)

With their first longplayer “In Rock We Trust” GALLOWS POLE could land a small success in Austria, but unfortunately there was no immediate success like NO BROS did in the same year and they get not properly known like the tyrolean guys with this release. Anyway, if you listen to tracks like “I’m A Loser”, “Abyss”, “In The End”, “Whiskey” or the epic title track “In Rock We Trust” you moved back into the prehistoric late seventhies, early eighties rock / metal era. The traditional guitarwork in addition with the attractive rhythm section and some cool breaks are worth to listen. For sure, you will miss the revolutionary impulse but who cares? This is an unmistakeable artefact from the beginnings from the Austrian rock / metal scene and this cd release is much more harder to find than the original vinyl release. Sadly, the only thing I miss is the awesome innersleve from the gatefold vinyl cover! (Charly Kogler / 2010)
